Time for a run.
On June 6, Pat and I ran the 10km course that we'll have to run during the triathlon and then some. We really didn't know what to expect and it turns out the course is nothing like we've run before. We're used to running on the roads of Okinawa. Well, for the triathlon, the run will consist of roads, stairs, trails, hills, a sand ladder (pics below), and gravel. I had a great time and look forward to testing myself on June 24. Pat has been having shin splints lately so it was a bit trying but he conquered the course no problem. Although towards the end of the run he yelled at me in Japanese to go away. You can see all the pictures here.

It's been cold and foggy lately so imagine my joy to waking up to clear skies. Happy hump day!

Welcome to America.

Today started out like any normal Monday but by noon, all that changed. Apparently there was a shooting a couple blocks away, followed by a chase, with the bad guy jumping out of his car and running away on foot then getting caught a couple minutes later. The bad guy decided to try and turn up the street I work on and that was his big mistake. The street I work on is a one-way street which is why he had to flee on foot. He happened to "park" right in front of my building which brought roughly a dozen cop cars and a lot more cops into the area. There were undercover cops, cops with big guns, big cops, little cops, boy cops, girl cops, and 1 shirtless villain who tried to escape. All this made me a little late for my chiropractor appointment as nobody was allowed to leave my building for about 15 minutes. Not even Superman can see thru these undies. In Japan where there are a lot of sukebe (perverts), one company has come up with Shot guard line of undergarments. Apparently this line of clothing "make photography difficult." Japan, with its peeping problem and the prevalence of men to take pictures of women and children with night vision capable camcorders/ cameras is where the marketing of such undies is occurring. Apparently they're working on shot guard bras also. Somehow the undergarments work by chilling those areas. It'll cost you about 2000 yen (20 bucks) for a pair.
