So today is not only Friday but it's also PARK(ing) Day. Here's some background, "On November 16th, 2005, REBAR opened eyes worldwide by transforming a metered parking spot into a park. Locating a site that was underserved by public outdoor space, we installed a small, temporary park that provided nature, seating, and shade. By our calculations, we provided 24,000 square-foot-minutes of public open space that afternoon." ( http://www.parkingday.org/index.html)
Today as I was going to work I noticed people "setting up" their "parks" in parking spaces. There was one that I had heard of that was located about a block from my office and on my way back from a meeting, I decided to check it out. The spot was sponsored by a massage business, a pilates studio, and a virtual health community called TauMed. I walked by and as it turned out, the people who had signed up for a massage were no shows so I was pencilled in :)
The massage really rejuvenated me physically and mentally. One more meeting to end Friday and then it's off to Santa Cruz for a triathlon.
